A moving story inspired by the life of Polish woman Krystyna Skarbek, one of the most extraordinary figures of World War II, a heroine of Great Britain and France, whose story remained unknown to the wider world for many years. A thrilling journey through years of war and love. A production filled with reflection on morality, truth, and courage. VESPER – a Latin term for the evening star used in English poetry since the 14th century, which Krystyna was affectionately called by her father, Count Jerzy Skarbek, and also the name of the first “Bond girl”, a character from the book Casino Royal by Ian Fleming.

A unique educational package has been created for students who will see the musical Vesper – lesson plans based on the musical Vesper. With the purchase of tickets to the musical, the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic provides each teacher with two free lesson plans inspired by the performance. The lesson plans offer a lesson plan that combines theater and education in an engaging way. The materials help expand historical knowledge while encouraging young people to reflect on the individual’s influence on the course of history. They teach an informed appreciation of culture and demonstrate how music and theater can become inspiring tools for conversations about values, courage, and responsibility.
