With the purchase of tickets to the musical Vesper, the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic is providing each teacher with two free lesson plans inspired by the performance. The educational materials focus on the story of Krystyna Skarbek – one of the most fascinating figures of World War II. The project highlights the educational potential of the musical Vesper and demonstrates how art can become a starting point for an in-depth conversation about history, values, and individual courage.

The package includes two lesson themes:
1. “Beautiful, Smart, Feisty, Self-Sufficient – A Story About Krystyna Skarbek”
(for use in Polish, social studies, homeroom, and interdisciplinary classes)
2. “She Wasn’t a Classic Spy – She Was a Force of Fire”
(for use in Polish, history, social studies, and interdisciplinary classes)

The materials were designed for use with students after viewing the performance and are aimed at primary and secondary schools. They include suggested exercises, discussion topics, and inspiration for creative activities.

The scripts are aligned with the core curriculum and expand on the themes explored in the musical Vesper. Their goal is to expand students’ historical knowledge, encourage young people to reflect on the role of individuals in history, and develop skills in consciously appreciating culture – particularly musical and theatrical forms.
