Each piece performed that night will be a surprising discovery. “Monbar, or the Filibusters,” op. 30 is Ignacy Feliks Dobrzyński’s first opera—and the only one he managed to complete. We will hear the overture to this work: a delightful piece with Romantic colour and an intriguing musical narrative. Next, we are going to solve the “Enigma” puzzle in the course of Edward William Elgar’s morphing variations. The evening will end with Maurycy Moszkowski’s Piano Concerto in H Minor, which was only discovered a few years ago.
Concert organized in cooperation with the Bulgarian Institute of Culture on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Bulgaria’s independence and establishment of diplomatic relations with Poland.
