December 19th, 2021, 4:00 PM – Opening of jewelry and paintings exhibiton ‘Jewels of the Imagination’
Exhibition Hall, Odeska 1 Street

We invite you to the opening of an exhibition featuring the work of two artists: Elżbieta Klemensowicz, who creates unique jewelry, and Katarzyna Krauze-Romejko, who paints paintings with phenomenal colors. Both women share a passion for the beauty of art and the subject matter of their work, transformed by extraordinary sensitivity.

ELŻBIETA KLEMENSOWICZ

Born in Białystok in 1964, she graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, Białystok branch. She has lived in Paris for 30 years and, under the pseudonym Ella K, creates artistic jewelry for clients around the world, including stars of the Polish and international art scene. Elżbieta Klemensowicz’s work encompasses interpretations of the Roaring Twenties, the French Renaissance, the Baroque period, Russian Romanticism, and The Arabian Nights.

Her pieces are characterized by their unique form, size, and color, as well as the meticulous selection of materials. Walking the cobblestones of Montmartre in Paris, exploring museum halls, and wandering the alleys of antique markets, she searches for materials that she can give a second life in her studio. The artist’s trademarks are Baroque-inspired, oversized crosses inlaid with semi-precious stones, vintage Swarovski crystals, cameos, 19th-century mourning buttons, and minerals. The artist combines these elements with others derived from nature. As she says, ‘Nature creates incredible forms, motifs, and colors that inspire my creations. My jewelry is a way to pay tribute to nature.’ Amber, agates, rock crystals, ammonites, semi-precious stones, shells, pearls, and sea bamboo are gifts of nature that the artist incorporates into her works. All these elements contribute to the priceless value of each unique piece.

Her work is purchased by owners of exclusive boutiques in Paris, New York, Chicago, Mauritius, and Venice. She exhibits in art galleries in Poland, France, Sweden, and the USA, and participates in fashion shows, creating collections for designers such as Izabela Lapinska, Christophe Guillarme, Christian Lacroix, and Chanel.

Each piece created by the artist in her Parisian atelier is a one-of-a-kind, one-of-a-kind piece, and the owner is assured that ELLA K jewelry is truly unique.

KATARZYNA KRAUZE-ROMEJKO

A native of Białystok, she is a doctor by vocation and education. In her private life, she is a happy wife and mother of three children (Maja, Tosia and Mateusz). She studied at the Faculty of Medicine of the Medical University of Białystok. After a year-long scholarship in Italy at the Mario Negri ‘Sud’ Institute in Santa Maria Imbaro, she defended her doctoral dissertation. It was also in Italy that her passion for painting was born. It is a form of relaxation, a way to express herself, to transport herself to another world.

She divides her time between her professional work, family life, and her passions, which include painting, designing her own clothing and accessories, running, and charitable work. Painting is her most important passion. Angels are a central theme in her work. This motif has always been special to her. Even as a young girl, she collected angel figurines. Over time, it became clear that this is not just a subject close to her. Many people desire to have their Guardian Angel on their walls. She has painted hundreds of angels, and each one is unique. In addition to angels, she also creates fairy-tale towns, animals and sometimes flowers. The artist is inspired by beautiful old buildings seen in reality or in photographs, the slowly rotating blades of old windmills or the magnificent, mighty trees of the Białowieża Forest. Her love for Podlasie is clearly evident: its landscapes, architecture, and multiculturalism. Her paintings feature distinctive symbolism: angels, madonnas, balloons and fantastical cities. In her paintings, colorful dreams meet reality. She paints with acrylic paints on canvas. She believes that originality is the essence of beauty, so she transfers her paintings to fabrics, creating original patterns that make each styling unique and exceptional. She has also designed patterns for sportswear fabrics. She has been painting for years, but she made her debut in front of a wider audience in 2017, participating in the Bielska Jesień Painting Biennial. She has two solo exhibitions and received awards and distinctions.

The exhibition will be on view until January 23, 2022, from Tuesday to Sunday, during box office hours.

Admission is free.
