On January 30th, we invite you to enjoy an exceptionally interesting artistic program.
The first part of the evening will feature Beethoven’s Concerto for Piano, Violin, and Cello in C major, Op. 56 – a work not as popular (perhaps for logistical reasons), underappreciated, and diverging from the composer’s typical style, as it is characterized by a joyful, collaborative style. This work was written for Prince Lobkowitz, Beethoven’s student and patron, and therefore the piano part is technically easier than the other instruments. The orchestra is treated here not as a backdrop, but with almost symphonic panache.
After the intermission, you will hear M. Karłowicz’s Symphony in E minor, Op. 7 ‘Rebirth’. This work contains a detailed literary program from the composer, published in the daily ‘Słowo Polskie’ before its performance on April 7, 1903, in Lviv. The work’s ideological subtext concerns existential crisis, suffering, and spiritual rebirth.
The concert will feature the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Alexander Iradyan, and the Lontano Trio, composed of Anna Kamińska (piano), Paweł Polak (violin), and Grzegorz Vytlacil (cello).
You are cordially invited!
