On March 7th, the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic will host the opening of the exhibition Women’s Republic II – an international artistic project that, on the eve of Women’s Day, will transform the Opera space into a meeting place for cultures, sensibilities, and creative courage.

Women’s Republic II is a continuation of a project initiated in 2025 at the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic in Białystok. This second iteration of the exhibition develops the idea of a women’s artistic community across borders, inviting artists from South Korea and Poland to engage in dialogue. Starting March 7th, the audience will be able to immerse themselves in the diverse worlds of artists representing different experiences, traditions, and visual languages in the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic Exhibition Hall.

Painters, weavers, sculptors, performers, and designers will showcase their work. The clash of cultures will not be a contrast, but a starting point for building understanding. Art will become a common language, and the female perspective will be the axis of the narrative. The exhibition’s tongue-in-cheek title emphasizes the power of women’s presence in art – creative, conscious, bold, and diverse.

The opening will take place on March 7, 2026, at 4:00 PM in the OiFP Exhibition Hall. Admission is by invitation only (available from Wednesday, February 25, at the OiFP box office; invitations are limited).

The opening will be accompanied by a unique musical event. Anna Karolska, accompanied by Buslav on saxophone, will perform her most famous compositions, most of which were created in collaboration with the artist, including Noł make-up, which marks her return to the stage after 24 years. The audience will also hear premiere compositions from the artist’s second album. Her work tells the story of a woman’s journey of development – tenderly and sensually enveloping us in sound and words, freely crossing genre boundaries: from jazz and pop to indie pop and electronic music.

The exhibition will be on view until April 12, 2026.
