The Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic will light up red for people with muscular dystrophy
On Sunday evening (September 7th), in conjunction with World Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Awareness Day, the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic building will be illuminated in red. This symbolic gesture is an expression of solidarity with those affected and their families, as well as a form of support for efforts to raise awareness of this disease. Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a rare genetic disorder that leads to progressive and irreversible muscle wasting. It affects boys and occurs in approximately one in 3,500-6,000 births.
We also remind you that on Tuesday, September 9th, a special charity concert will be held on the Main Stage of the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic, supporting children with muscular dystrophy. This concert is organized by the Pro Salute Association in cooperation with the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic. Andrzej Piaseczny will perform – one of Poland’s most recognizable vocalists, who has captivated listeners with his warm voice and stage charisma for 30 years. During the concert, audiences will hear his greatest hits, and proceeds from the event will go to help children struggling with muscular dystrophy. The performance begins at 7:00 PM.
