The idea to form the Ars Iuvenum chamber ensemble was born in May 1988. Since then, the ensemble has been extremely active in concerts, both at home and abroad (including Austria and Belarus). Ars Iuvenum has produced numerous programs, which have been presented in over a hundred concerts. The ensemble’s broad repertoire is not limited to a single era – it encompasses works from the Baroque to the contemporary period, showcasing the richness of chamber music across a variety of styles. Ars Iuvenum performs compositions by composers such as W.A. Mozart, J. Haydn, L. van Beethoven, F. Danzi, C.M. von Weber, F. Schubert, L. Spohr, J. Brahms, Ch. Gounod, L. Thuille, A. Dvořák, C. Franck, R. Strauss, J. Ibert, A. Honegger, D. Milhaud, F. Poulenc, M. Ravel, J. Françaix, F. Farkas, I. Albéniz, S. Prokofiev, and I. Stravinsky. The ensemble’s composition is variable and depends on the program presented to the audience—which may include works written for both solo instrument and larger instruments. To date, the various compositions of Ars Iuvenum have included over sixty musicians, representing all orchestral instruments. Members of the ensemble have twice received scholarships from the Białystok Voivode. Grzegorz Puchalski has served as the ensemble’s artistic director from the very beginning. In June 2010, the artist received the Artistic Award of the Mayor of Białystok for his lifetime achievements in music. In October 2018, Ars Iuvenum celebrated its 30th anniversary, culminating in a gala concert at the concert hall on Podleśna Street.
