The performing style of Gary Guthman, an American trumpeter residing in Poland, made him one of the most renowned virtuosos of the instrument. He played solistic parts alongside all the best symphonic orchestras in Canada and the USA, and next to stars like Tony Bennett, Aretha Franklin, Tom Jones, Paul Anka, Johnny Mathis, or Bee Gees. This time he will perform with the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir under the baton of Marta Gardolińska, who in 2016 was awarded a distinction and a special award from the orchestra during the 6th Witold Lutosławski National Competition for Young Conductors in Białystok. She was also honored with the title of Associate Fellow and a stipend from Marin Alsop’s foundation, Taki Concordia Conducting Fellowship, which promotes the best female conductors. She is also a laureate of the “Outstanding Pole in Austria” 2016 competition in the Culture category.
