Description:
After dazzling performances in Gounod’s Romeo and Juliet, Verdi’s La Traviata and Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor, Nadine Sierra takes on another challenge in the soprano repertoire, playing Amina, the heroine who wins the hearts of audiences in Bellini’s moving story of lost and found love.
In his new production, Rolando Villazón – a tenor who is successfully developing his career as a director – remains faithful to the original Alpine landscape, but uses the motif of dreams to explore the emotional and psychological recesses of the human mind in greater depth. Alongside Nadine Sierra, the cast includes tenor Xabier Anduaga as Amina’s fiancé Elvino, soprano Sydney Mancasola as her rival Lisa, and bass Alexander Vinogradov as Count Rodolfo. Riccardo Frizza will conduct. One of the most enchanting operas will be presented live from the Metropolitan Opera in cinemas around the world on 18 October 2025.
