Dawid Runtz will lead Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic Orchestra for the first time since 2016, when he earned 2nd prize in 6th Witold Lutosławski Competition for Young Conductors in Białystok. Charismatic and impeccable, he said then: “The starting point is respect for the score, being true to the composer’s intentions and being precise, not for the sake of being precise, but for the ability uncover all the emotions and the whole dramaticality that goes to the reception of the work.” Liricism, great mood contrasts, bright harmonics of Piano Concerto in A minor, completed with the enthusiasm of 25-year-old Grieg, will sound fully in masterful performance of pianist Zbigniew Raubo. Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7, called “an apotheosis of dance” or “Bacchic fury”, pulsating with the antic world, is still great and fresh today. The work of every conductor translated to different sound of the orchestra—and it’s still a mystery how that works. The personality of the young virtuoso of the baton promises a wonderful concert.
