The works of over a dozen exceptional women artists can be viewed starting today (March 7th) in the Exhibition Hall of the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic – the opening of the exhibition Women’s Republic II has just finished. The second edition of the project, which began in 2025 at the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic, has an international character. Works by not only Polish artists but also seven South Korean artists have arrived in Białystok, part of an artistic exchange initiated with the exhibition From Thread to Light in Paju in January 2026.

The exhibition showcases a broad spectrum of women’s creativity – from painting and textile art to sculpture, design and fashion. The organizers were guided by the idea of building community and creating a meeting place for diverse perspectives and artistic languages: – Women’s Republic II allows for the presentation of art in an international dimension, the individuality of each artist, but also highlights the common denominator of women’s creativity and support – notes exhibition curator Bernarda Nikitorowicz from the Marchand Foundation.

Saturday evening featured a concert by Anna Karolska with saxophonist Buslav. The exhibition will be on view until April 12th.

A curatorial tour of the exhibition is scheduled for Thursday, March 12th. Details at https://www.oifp.eu/curatorial-tour-of-the-exhibition-womens-republic-ii/?lang=en
