On October 4th, we invite you to a curatorial tour of the Podlasie Dimension of Art II exhibition. The meeting with the artists will be preceded by a lecture entitled “Art in Podlasie: History and the Present,” led by Dr. Joanna Tomalska-Więcek.

‘The art of Podlasie is an unknown land, a terra incognita. This can be said both about ancient art and about the art of our times. This is very bad news, because culture reflects our identity, history, memory, and level of civilizational development. And yet we have much to be proud of! Unfortunately, all occupiers robbed Podlasie of its most valuable cultural treasures, and that is why we know little or nothing about them today. We know just as little about what is happening in Podlasie art today. I will attempt to prove this point in a short lecture, illustrated with slides.’
