Halfway Festival is an alternative music festival focusing on singing-songwriting—a genre where one can discover new, unknown talent as well as musicians whose popularity is limited to specific countries. “Say no to geographical boredom” is one of the mottos of the organizers, which is why the festival has already hosted artists from various parts of the world, including Emiliana Torrini (Iceland), Theodore (Greece), GinGa (Austria), Ewert and The Two Dragons (Estonia), Lisa Hannigan (UK), SoKo (France), Navi (Belarus), Alina Orlova (Lithuania), Haydamaky (Ukraine), Mountain Goats (USA), Accoletive (Israel), Eivør (Faroe Islands), Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp XXL (Switzerland), Anna Ternheim (Sweden), Low (USA), and The Veils (UK/New Zealand). While the main focus of Halfway Festival is music, the format is expanded year after year to include accompanying events, ranging from debates and conversations to film screenings, workshops, exhibitions and even an open-air breakfast market. Seven editions of Halfway Festival took place between 2012 and 2018.
