Children’s Choir of the OiFP announces recruitment
Does your child love singing, dream of performing on stage, and want to develop their skills in a friendly and creative atmosphere?
We invite you to auditions for the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic Children’s Choir. Auditions will take place on March 22, 2026, in the Orchestra Rehearsal Room at 1 Odeska Street in Białystok. We are looking for candidates aged 9 to 16 who love singing and want to join our community.
The Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic Children’s Choir has been operating since September 2011 under the direction of Dr. Ewa Barbara Rafałko. The choir participates in performances organized by the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic, including: L. Simone’s Doctor Zhivago, J. Strauss’s The Gypsy Baron, G. Puccini’s La Bohème, G. Bizet’s Carmen, G. Verdi’s La Traviata and regularly performs at the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic. Furthermore, they participate in numerous external events. The choir has recorded two albums: Christmas Wishes and Stabat Mater. Lord, You See…. Annual summer choral workshops are held where young artists develop their vocal, acting, dance, and sometimes even circus skills.
The choir rehearses on Mondays (5:00 PM – 7:00 PM), Tuesdays (5:00 PM – 7:00 PM), and Thursdays (5:00 PM – 7:00 PM). The choir’s coordinator is Magdalena Gładkowska.
During the auditions, candidates will showcase their vocal skills with a piece of their choice. The panel will also assess their hearing and vocal abilities. The piece can be performed with background music (connected to an AUX speaker via USB-C or a 3.5mm mini-jack) or with piano accompaniment.
