He holds a postdoctoral degree and is a professor at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. In 1964, he began his studies at the St. Moniuszko State Primary and Secondary School of Music in the violin class of Jan Szurman. From 1971, he continued his violin studies with Jan Dunikowski, M.A., under whose supervision he graduated with distinction in 1976. In October of the same year, he participated in the International Competition for Young Violinists in Lublin, where he was a finalist. That same year, Stanisław Kuk began his studies at the Academy of Music in Katowice in the class of Professor Paweł Święty, where he graduated with a very good grade in 1982. He actively participated in master classes with professors such as Vladimir Avramov, Wolfgang Marschner, Renato de Barbieri, Ruggiero Ricci, Wanda Wiłkomirska, and Ida Haendel.
In October 1991, he began working as an assistant in the violin class of Professor Henryk Palulis at the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw – Białystok Branch. In October 1994, he obtained his first-degree qualification and then worked as an assistant professor from October 1996. In November 1999, the Council of the Instrumental Department of the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw awarded him his second-degree qualification. In February 2001, he was appointed associate professor at the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music, and in 2002, he became head of the String Instruments Department. Simultaneously, in 1992, he became head of the violin and viola sections at the State Music Secondary School and the State Secondary Music School in Białystok.

The artistic work of Dr. Stanisław Kuk, a professor at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, is multifaceted, encompassing pedagogy, art, and cultural promotion. As a teacher, he has been the head of the violin and viola sections at the State Music Secondary School and the State Secondary Music School in Białystok since 1992. At the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, he has held the position of associate professor at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music since 2001, and in 2002, he became the head of the String Instruments Department.

Stanisław Kuk has over 40 years of experience conducting orchestras as a concertmaster. Initially, he was associated with the Silesian Chamber Orchestra and the Bielsk Chamber Orchestra (since 1983) and the Silesian Opera in Bytom (1990–1991). From 1988 to 1990, he recorded albums and performed as concertmaster with various Polish and foreign orchestras throughout Europe (almost 100 concerts with Justus Franz and Wojciech Rajski). In August 1991, he began working at the State Philharmonic in Białystok (now the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic).
He has performed approximately 100 concerts as concertmaster of the Bielsk Chamber Orchestra. As concertmaster of the Silesian Chamber Orchestra, he has played over 150 concerts in Poland and approximately 30 concerts abroad. He also performed approximately 80 performances as concertmaster of the Silesian Opera Orchestra in Bytom. Subsequently, in Białystok, he played approximately 1,000 concerts as concertmaster of the Białystok Philharmonic, including abroad: in New York (Carnegie Hall), numerous times in France, Germany, and Lithuania, as well as in the capitals of Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Belarus, Finland, Sweden, Norway, and the United Kingdom. As a member of the orchestra, he has collaborated with the Polish Chamber Orchestra of Jerzy Maksymiuk and with the Wojciech Rajski Chamber Orchestra (performing approximately 100 concerts in Western Europe with pianist Justus Frantz). He has performed in Berlin (primarily with the Berlin Philharmonic) more than a dozen times as a member of the Berliner Barock Orchester and the Festival Orchestra.
As a soloist, he recorded Antonio Vivaldi’s Four Seasons (Summer, Winter) in 1996 for Polish Radio Białystok. He was a guest on the series “Historie dmuchkiem pisane” (Historie with a Bow) on Katowice Television. As concertmaster of the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic Orchestra, he has recorded 15 CDs, which are in public circulation, including in the American market (Jazz Suite Tykocin with trumpeter Randy Brecker).
Stanisław Kuk played a key role and contributed to building the instrumental level of the Białystok Philharmonic, and later the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic, whose activities influenced the development of musical and cultural awareness in the region. As a leader, he led hundreds of sectional rehearsals, shaping the musical quality that has been enjoyed by numerous music lovers for years. His over 40 years of work as concertmaster of numerous orchestras had a direct impact on the development of each of these ensembles.

As a soloist, chamber musician, and concertmaster, he has made numerous recordings and concerts, ranking among musicians of the highest artistic standard on an international scale. His recordings also include works by Polish composers (including premiere compositions), which has had an undeniable impact on the development and promotion of Polish musical heritage (his albums were nominated for the most important Polish phonographic award, the ‘Fryderyk’ Award, and were awarded the ‘Record of the Year 2008’ award from ‘Dziennik Rzeczpospolita’). Stanisław Kuk has successfully educated academic staff and the future generation of violinists and promoters of Polish culture both in Poland and abroad. He also supervised and reviewed scholarly works and organized and presented at academic conferences (Pisz, Suwałki, Białystok, Radom, Giżycko, Bielsko-Biała). His teaching activities are not limited to successfully fulfilling the duties of his positions of responsibility, but are expanded to include numerous initiatives (including the ‘Podlasie Festival of Two-Stop Violin Performances for Students of Secondary Music Schools’ in Białystok 2015-2021) and participation in competitions, academic conferences, and courses at national and international levels. Every year, he is invited as an expert in his field to numerous master classes (Teresin, Augustów, Szeligi, Rajgród, Serpelice, Drohiczyn), where he is co-led by equally distinguished and award-winning educators, including professor and former rector of the Academy of Music in Katowice, Tomasz Miczka, and trombonist of the National Polish Radio Orchestra, Zdzisław Stolarczyk.
Professor Stanisław Kuk has received the following distinctions: the Silver Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis (March 21, 2025), the Bronze Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis (January 2011), the Badge of Merit for Cultural Activism (January 2004), the Silver Cross of Merit (January 2004), and the Honorary Badge for Merit to the Bielsk Voivodeship (February 1997).
