Conductor, composer and multi-instrumentalist. He was born in 1973 in Białystok. Here he acquired his musical education and completed his studies in choral conducting in the class of Professor Violetta Bielecka. After graduating, he took up work as an accompanist and group singing teacher at the Puppet Art Department of the Theatre Academy in Warsaw, where he also made his debut as a theater music composer.
Since then he composed music for almost 80 performances, inlcuding: puppet (for example Jaskółeczka, Buratino, A niech to gęś kopnie), drama (for example The Master and Margarita, Macbeth, The Wedding), radio plays (Kraina śpiochów, Święty Edyp), Television Theatre performances (Life of Joseph, God Nijinsky).
He had worked with numerous directors ( among others, Jakub Krofta, Jarosław Gajewski, Ondrej Spišák, Zbigniew Lisowski, Waldemar Wolański), but the most lasting and fruitful was the collaboration with Piotr Tomaszuk and the Wierszalin Theatre (A Report about the End of the World, The Curse, The Clown Ship). Since 2000, he has participated as an arranger and vocal band leader in dozens of concerts and television productions (National Song Festival in Opole, Szansa na Sukces, Battle of the Voices), collaborating with artists such as Elżbieta Skrętkowska, Zygmunt Kukla, Natalia Kukulska, and Adam Sztaba.
In 2006, he joined Anna Maria Jopek’s band as a singing multi-instrumentalist. He has participated in numerous concerts in Poland and abroad, as well as in the recording of her exceptional albums with Branford Marsalis, Makoto Ozone, and Pat Metheny. As an instrumentalist, he has also collaborated with Kasia Kowalska, Robert Chojnacki, and Natalia Niemen. For over 30 years, he has led the pop-gospel band TGD, where he serves as conductor, composer, lyricist, arranger, and music producer. Some of the group’s songs are well-known and sung at Christian community gatherings throughout Poland and even abroad. TGD’s most popular project is Carols of the World. Kuba Badach, Kasia Cerekwicka, Piotr Cugowski, Ania Karwan, and Mateusz Ziółko have participated in the album recordings and Christmas concert tours.
As a conductor, he has led choral workshops throughout Poland for many years. He has also served as an instructor at the Krefeld Gospel Festival in Germany several times. In 2014, he conducted a 1,000-person choir during the Festival of Hope in Warsaw, which he recalls as one of the most exceptional experiences of his career.
Piotr Nazaruk is co-founder, instructor and artistic supervisor of Szkółka TGD and also the creator of the repertoire and producer of the recordings of the Małe TGD band that was founded on its basis. The songs of this children’s group are incredibly popular, and their debut track, Góry do góry, has already garnered nearly 120,000,000 views on YouTube. As a composer, arranger, and music producer, he has released approximately 20 albums, three of which have achieved Gold Record status and two Platinum Record status. He has also won awards at several theater festivals (including the Divine Comedy 2008, Dwa Teatry 2004, 2008, and 2018, the Golden Mask 2014, and the 14th Edition of the Competition for the Staging of Polish Contemporary Plays). In his personal life, he is the husband of Emilia and the father of Nadia and Jonatan.
